Chocolate Avocado Mousse
Ahh! chocolate avocado mousse, yes please!
What is so special about avocados?
Avocados have many benefits, they are rich in fat, this may sound unhealthy, but it possesses the good fats knowns as mono-saturated fatty acids. They are also rich in vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant which has the ability to reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease. It works by protecting the cells in the body against free radicals, it is also good for our immune system and our overall skin health. Avocados are also rich in potassium, a mineral which helps to balance sodium in the diet and maintain healthy blood pressure. A little tip; always take care when peeling the avocado skin as the majority of its nutrients are concentrated in the dark green layer near the skin. I couldn’t help but use strawberries as topping for this creamy mousse. They add an extra sweet taste which gives this dessert a perfect balance. You can also use or add raspberries or blackberries for topping.
