Ingredients

  • 500 ml milk (or about 2 cups whole milk)works best for creaminess (substitute with oat, almond, or coconut milk if dairy-free)
  • 10 g baobab powder (1 tbsp)
  • 2 tsp honey (10 ml) or brown sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tbsp cream for topping, whipped dairy cream or vegan cream (optional)

Instructions

  • In a blender, combine the milk, baobab powder, and sweetener.Blend until smooth, ensuring no lumps remain.
  • Pour the blended mixture into a saucepan or skillet.Warm over medium heat for 3–5 minutes, stirring slowly. Do not boil, as baobab may curdle if overheated.
  • Remove from heat once steaming hot and pour into mugs. Top with a spoonful of whipped cream (dairy or vegan) if desired.
  • For garnish, dust lightly with extra baobab powder. Enjoy!

Notes

Pro tip: When making the baobab latte, be cautious not to boil the baobab for too long as it may split. Remove it from the stove as soon as it gets hot to enjoy a smooth and creamy beverage.
