Ingredients

  • 1 banana ripe
  • 1 cup almond milk or any plant milk of your choice
  • 2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 square dark chocolate 70% cocoa or higher
  • 2 tbsp cashew nuts
  • 1 scoop vegan protein powder optional
  • Ice optional (to make it colder)

Instructions

  • Peel the banana and break it into smaller pieces.
  • Place the banana, almond milk, cacao powder, dark chocolate, cashew nuts, and vegan protein powder (if using) into a blender.
  • If desired, add ice for a refreshing twist.
  • Blend all the ingredients until smooth and creamy.
  • Pour into a glass and enjoy!

Notes

Sweetener: if you prefer a sweeter smoothie, you can add a teaspoon of maple syrup or a few pitted dates to the blender.
Nut-free? - If you have a nut allergy, you can replace the cashew nuts with sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds. These seeds will still provide a creamy texture and a boost of healthy fats.
Storage: Smoothies are best consumed when best. However, if you have leftovers, store the smoothie in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
