Equipment

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife and cutting board (for pineapple and avocado prep, if fresh)
  • Glasses or jars f or serving

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh spinach (30 g), loosely packed
  • ¼ cup fresh kale (10g) stems removed
  • 1 medium banana 100 g, frozen
  • 1 cup mango chunks frozen (150 g, frozen)
  • ¼ cup pineapple chunks (40 g), fresh
  • 1 cup soy milk 240 ml (or other milk of choice)
  • 1 tsp flaxseeds
  • 2 Tbsp whipped cream 30 g (dairy or non-dairy whipped cream) (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare ingredients: If using frozen fruit, no need to add ice. If using fresh fruit, you may add a few ice cubes for a chilled smoothie.
  • Blend: Add spinach, kale, banana, mango, pineapple, flaxseeds, and oat milk to a blender. Blend on high speeduntil smooth and creamy.
  • Serve: Pour into 2 glasses. If desired, top with whipped cream for extra indulgence. Enjoy immediately while cold and fresh.

Notes

  • Boost the protein: Add a scoop of protein powder, hemp seeds, or Greek yogurt (if not dairy-free).
  • Extra creamy texture: Swap soy milk for oat milk or almond milk for different flavours and creaminess.
  • Customise the greens: Use baby spinach for a milder flavour, or increase the kale if you like it earthier.
  • Meal prep tip: Freeze banana, mango, pineapple, and spinach together in a freezer bag. In the morning, just add milk and flaxseeds for a ready-to-blend smoothie.
