There’s something about the irresistible combination of crunch and sweetness that makes me weak in the knees. And the fact that these fries are oven-baked, making them healthier than their deep-fried counterparts, is just the cherry on top.
Sweet potatoes are not your average spuds. They’re superheroes disguised as vegetables. Packed with vitamin A and vitamin C, they’re there to save the day and boost your immune system. But it doesn’t stop there. These orange wonders are also loaded with fibre, keeping your digestive system running as smoothly as a well-oiled machine.

Oven-Baked Sweet Potato Fries
Ingredients
- 2 sweet potatoes Large, peeled
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon corn flour
- 1 teaspoon cajun spice
- ½ tsp black pepper optional
- ½ tsp sea salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200℃
- Prepare the sweet potatoes. Cut them into thin, long shapes and place them in a large bowl.
- In a separate small bowl, combine cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, and cajun spice.
- Drizzle oil onto the sweet potatoes until they are fully covered, then add the spice mixture to the sweet potatoes. Mix well to ensure even coating.
- Transfer the coated sweet potatoes onto a baking tray, making sure to space them out evenly.
- Bake in the oven for 15 minutes. Afterwards, remove the tray and toss the sweet potatoes with a fork. Place them back in the oven for an additional 15 minutes to achieve a crispy finish.
- Once done, take the sweet potatoes out of the oven. Combine coriander, salt, and black pepper, and crush them using a rolling pin, pestle and mortar, or your fingers. Sprinkle this mixture over the fries. Allow them to cool completely to enhance their crispiness. Finally, serve and enjoy!
